Hi
Patty,
It is
far too infrequent in our very difficult home care business to
receive compliments for exceptional caregivers. Having over 20
years in home care management I know all too well what
challenges we all face from the bedside to the boardroom. I do
want to take this opportunity to say a special and heartfelt
thank you to an exceptional woman. Ama has gone above and
beyond in her duties in providing loving, gentle and incredibly
professional care to my mother. The stories my mother tells me
of the time she spends with Ama sound more like those of great
adventures she would have with a friend. She told me something
the other night that absolutely floored me and it fills me up
now even thinking about it.
Ama took
my mother to her doctor’s office to have a sleep study read.
They had called ahead and were expected so they wouldn’t have to
wait. Ama went in for my mother and waited patiently for the
office staff to call her. She frequently checked with them to
see what was taking so long because she was concerned for my
mother’s welfare sitting alone in the hot car with oxygen that
she wasn’t able to reach on her own if her tank ran out. Ama
finally used her excellent judgement and left the office to go
back to my mother telling them all “Mum can’t be alone in the
car all this time. She can’t even reach her oxygen if she
needs it. I need to go now to her.”
I
understand that Ama recently passed her boards as an RN in Pennsylvania. This act of exceptional
clinical judgment shows what an incredible RN she will be. I
am sure over the years she will touch many lives such as that of
my mother. Please tell her that from the bottom of my heart I
am grateful to her for all she does for her. In an ideal world
I could be there myself as an RN to care for my mother but being
a sole breadwinner as a single mother I have to work. It is a
genuine relief to know that Ama is there as a companion and
caregiver to my mother. Thank her for the many “adventures”
she shares with my mom. She makes my mother smile and laugh
all the time! A million thanks to her and to you Patty for all
you do all the time! We are all truly blessed!
Warmest
Regards,
Rose R.

Dear Cindy and Dave,
"There is really no way to thank you enough for all of
your help, guidance and support through these past three years.
We know how much you tried to satisfy our mother, especially in the
last 6 months. The respect and understanding you always
showed her and all of us is so much appreciated. And what can
we say about Sylvia? Who kept us informed and aware, who packed
everything for my mom because I was sick- who went with her
overnight to make the change easier for her and who showed so much
restraint and compassion regardless of our mother's attitude.
She is a gem and we can never repay her either. We wish you
the best in the coming year and hope you and your family remain
healthy and happy."

Dear Mr. Griswold:
"I am writing to you directly about
the home health aides of Special Care who provided such marvelous,
responsive and sensitive care to my father during the last several
months of his life.
They
are: Michele J.
Eastlyn S.
Annete M.
Their
technical care-giving was thorough; more importantly, they all
understood his moods and needs --- and always responded
appropriately and compassionately.
Cindy and David, the managers of Special Care's
Philadelphia office were most helpful administratively.
I would be pleased to be a reference for your
fine organization and specifically, for these three (3) wonderful
ladies. Please share this letter with them."
Sincerely yours,
John L. F.
